Our Work

Our core focus is to work alongside adolescent girls, and boys, under the age of 18. We feel that the majority of our efforts are best directed at young people as they are our future. We believe that if more youth are educated about their rights as human beings they will become valuable change makers in Bangladeshi society.
Because our youth don’t exist in a void, it is important they have the support they need to make a stand against the culture of violence and gender abuse.
Our answer to this is addressing people of influence, in particular, Imams (Muslim religious leaders), police and other law enforcement agents, as well as teachers, parents and village heads.
We rely on philanthropic support and individual donations and sponsorships to carry out our work.
We also rely on the expertise and support of other civil society organisations working for a more equal and free society in Bangladesh.

Our Core Projects

STOP Violence against Girls and Women NOW

Our Stop Violence against Girls and Women initiative works on a number of levels in the community to reduce the incidences of child marriage, eve teasing, rape, dowry related violence, domestic violence and acid throwing.

Imams Movement for Women's Rights

PHREB engages Imams to end violence against women and early marriage, and promote women's human rights such as greater economic participation. Imams speak to thousands of people in mosques every week. Their support is crucial to achieving a society where women are respected and equal.

Empowering Adolescent Girls

BKAF (Bangladesh Kishori Adhikar Forum) is a fast growing alliance of girls (ages 8 - 18) committed to ending gender violence, promoting adolescent sexual and reproductive rights, equality and human rights in Bangladesh.

Education for Girls

Our Education for Girls initiative offers quality non-formal and formal primary education for some of the more underprivileged girls. We provide poor girls with education aid. We campaign for safe schools for girls.

School Campaign

Our Work with Students becomes their Home Work. We reach girls and boys through our School Campaign.
